I have an aging list of things I intended to post. Here is an item from the list:
“Clatsop County Dive Team members pulled two persons from the vehicle as bystanders stood nearby. Both were deceased. No identities have been released.”
This was a quote from a newspaper.
I think I was offended by the “as bystanders stood nearby.”
As my father pointed out to me, it’s also weird that the bystanders were deceased.
(Yes, my father lurks on your blog. He lurks on mine, too, so don’t feel bad that he lurks yet never comments. I think he’s afraid that leaving a comment will steal his soul.)
OMG, that has to be the most poorly-written accident report ever. Was that The New York Times? It certainly wouldn’t surprise me.
